I joined the fire service in 1989 as a junior firefighter with the Sunny View Volunteer Fire Department. I progressed through the ranks to Captain. In 2004, I left Sunny View and joined the Shingle Hollow Volunteer Fire Department where I currently volunteer. In 2005, Fairview hired two firefighters, one of the persons hired was Battalion Chief Steve Lytle and the other lucky joker was me. I am proud to be a firefighter with the Fairview Fire Department and I hope to retire from here. In my opinion this is the best department in the state, country or possibly even the world. I guess that is a biased opinion, but I'm sure you can find someone who will back me up. I now am serving or trying to serve as a Battalion Chief on C-shift, with a great bunch of firefighters. I am proud of this group of firefighters, and they place the citizens of Fairview as their top priority. Thanks Fairview Fire Department for allowing me a chance to serve your community.
